JOB DESCRIPTION

Work:
- The work is a mixture of picking jobs
- Oranges, Almonds, Apples & Peaches
- Farm work is very hard work, its involves hard labour, picking fruits from large trees from the floor and on ladders. It is physically demanding and will test you.
- The work is contract paid, the more you pick the more you earn.
- Various rates of pay are depending on the farm and also the job you are doing. Oranges can be anything between $20-$30 per bin, other rates meet the ADFA - Australian Dried Fruit Association and also FAIRWORK AUS Regulations.
- Must be able to speak good English and take direction.
- You will be getting signed off for your visa from the 1st day, 90 straight days at the farm and you will have your visa requirments.
- All training is given.

Accommodation:
- Accommodation is either in a shared house or on the farm.
- Rent is $150 per week, this includes all transport to and from the farm and pick up on arrival. This also includes a FREE BBQ EVERY SATURDAY.
- It is a minimum stay of 2 weeks, so on arrival you must pay 2 weeks of fees, amounting to $300 securing your stay for 2 weeks.
- There is also a deposit of $150 which you will get back when you give 1 week written notice of you leaving.

Work:
- Work is strawberry picking & packing
- Strawberry picking is very hard work, it involves a lot of bending, sitting on your toes and picking fast, it can hurt your back and be very exhausting.
- All workers are required to undergo a training period for the first five days of work. The worker must continue to work after the completion of the training period otherwise any work completed during the training period will be unpaid.
- Work is for more than 3 months.
- The work is contract paid at different rates for picking and packing.
- Picking pay rates are a minimum of $1.55 per tray 3kg. This rate may be higher depending on the fruit size and crop yield. Please check with our foreman for the current rate.
- Packing rates are $0.15 per punnet, for each carton of punnets completed.
- A super is also paid.
- Payment is processed weekly. Payment is made for the week ending Sunday and is made on the Thursday that falls eleven days after the week ending Sunday.
- Cheating, physical abuse or verbal abuse are not tolerated and will result in instant dismissal.
- Full training will be given.
- Excellent spoken English isn't essential as the farm covers different languages and is fluent in broken English.

Accommodation:
- Accommodation is provided on the farm in the form of 2 or 4 people shared bedrooms or camper van spots.
- The on farm beds are $11 a day per person, $77 a week.
- The camper van spots are $5.50 a day per 2 people in the van. Any more than 2 people in a van you will have to pay another $5.50.
