The Murray River Queen has opened as a fruit picking hostel 2 hours North of Adelaide. With more than 100 beds over 4 different levels this boat provides a truely amazing experience for travelers wanting to get their second year visa. There is a $100 bond required upon arrival to the property. This $100 bond will be returned to you on checkout provided you have not damaged or defaced the property and also given sufficient notice before leaving the hostel. Accommodation on the boat ranges from $150 up to $170 per person per week. Work:
- The work is a mixture of picking jobs
- Oranges, Almonds, Apples & Peaches
- Farm work is very hard work, its involves hard labour, picking fruits from large trees from the floor and on ladders. It is physically demanding and will test you.
- The work is contract paid, the more you pick the more you earn.
- Various rates of pay are depending on the farm and also the job you are doing. Oranges can be anything between $20-$30 per bin, other rates meet the ADFA - Australian Dried Fruit Association and also FAIRWORK AUS Regulations.
- Must be able to speak good English and take direction.
- You will be getting signed off for your visa from the 1st day, 90 straight days at the farm and you will have your visa requirments.
- All training is given.

Accommodation:
- Accommodation is either in a shared house or on the farm.
- Rent is $150 per week, this includes all transport to and from the farm and pick up on arrival. This also includes a FREE BBQ EVERY SATURDAY.
- It is a minimum stay of 2 weeks, so on arrival you must pay 2 weeks of fees, amounting to $300 securing your stay for 2 weeks.
